Welcome to Stories by the Fireside

Hello, I am Dorothy Blandford. It's said that Ireland is a land of stories and story-tellers. In my early days we would sit at the kitchen table, reading by oil lamp, or around the fireside, with the kettle ever on the boil, ready to make a pot of tea for family, friends or neighbours who dropped in. I'll share some short tales that go up hills, down valleys, around corners.
