How an evening visit to a park at sunset and watching a contented rabbit led to thoughts of a favourite nursery story, The Velveteen Rabbit, and the reminder that some things do take time and patience.

During this challenging time of change and adjustment, it is so important to identify with whatever speaks to our heart and gives us peace and calm.  I share two of my favourite poetry readings in the hope that they may give you comfort, and encourage you to add your own daily moments of support.

Returning to your Bench of Dreams on this autumn day, with the sun shining and birds singing, your feet having crunched on the crisp coloured leaves, you await the arrival of today's special guest . . . your 20-year-older future self.

On this perfect summer's day you have returned tto your favourite Bench of Dreams. Smiling, you stand to welcome the young person walking towards you . . . your younger self.

You have a relaxing favourite seat in Nature that is your Bench of Dreams. Today you are meeting for the first time someone who has been your inspiration. It is a warm spring day with the sun shining through the gentle breeze of the trees as you anticipate the arrival of this special person.

I learned that a bedraggled three-legged calico cat had recently arrived at the SPCA, about to have kittens, and been placed with a caring foster volunteer. After 2 months I looked after her for a long weekend and realized I wanted to make the commitment to adopt her. From Chapter 6 of my book Into the Mystic.
